Take a Leap at Talon Falls
We have had quite a few guests at White Lady's Resort who wanted to visit other places in Bulalacao aside from our magnificent coastline and almost always, we recommend going to Talon Falls. However, only my husband Junel has accompanied our guests so I have never seen the falls for myself.
Luckily, my friends Gab Tayag, Bianca Vicente, Chris Josue and Bart Albisor have come to visit me and my family last April 28 - 30, 2017. And of course, this was a perfect excuse to (escape the other three kids and) accompany them to Talon Falls. And so we went, along with my very lucky All-Around Assistant, Nick Justin.
Behind me and my trusty assistant Nick is the hut where guests log in their names.
The way to FOREVER. Well, not really. Just a kilometer trek to Talon Falls.
Talon Falls is located at Brgy. Bagong Sikat, Bulalacao, Oriental Mindoro. From White Lady's Resort, you could take our tricycle and travel for 20 to 30 minutes. Upon reaching the start of the trail, we were greeted by Kuya Jun, the person assigned to welcome guests going to Talon Falls. We listed our names in their Guest Logbook and paid the Environmental Fee of Php10.00 per person and off we went to trek in the somewhat scenic route to Talon Falls.
The Welcome Hut. Er, where they welcome guests, let them sign the
logbook and pay the Envi. Fee.
We crossed a few fields,
Onion field.
Rice field or rather, a "bigas" field. Hehehe!
a slippery stream,
Blurry. Hehe.
and had a few ups-and-downs (like literally.)
But, it was worth it.
Hooray for Talon Falls!
Being a long weekend, there were some local tourists already at Talon Falls when we arrived. Some have even spent the night there.
Photo Focus: Gab Tayag. The people behind Gab are the other local tourists.
But the water was cool and refreshing on that very hot summer day. And everything was fun. We (almost) all swam (or pretended to swim whilst clinging to the rocks for dear life. Haha! Hint: It wasn't me.) Even my sidekick Nick got his hair wet for a few precious seconds. (We can't let him swim because the water was too cold for him.)
911 Lunchmates* Reunited
Anyway, if you want to try to swim in another body of water other than Bulalacao's way cool fantastic beaches (especially our super awesome beach at White Lady's Resort), we (or mostly you) can take a giant leap at Talon Falls and feel refreshed, relaxed, and maybe a bit sore from the trek. But, yes, it was all worth it.
Note: 911 Lunchmates are Nes, Gab, Bianca and Tope. Obviously we eat together during lunch break hence the name.
Another note: For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to insert photos in the Note. I’m not sure if it’s just the slow internet connection or maybe I need to post the photos somewhere and code it into the Note. But, I’ll figure it out eventually. Maybe. Until next time. Hopefully, I get to blog more about other great spots in Bulalacao. Azriel out. Peace!
Edit: Already posted the photos! So excited! Yay! :)
